Local culture in the era of globalization is like a small boat that sails amidst large ocean waves and can be easily even lost in the ocean. Globalization, which is closely related to digital technology, often attracts people to abandon their old habits. For example changes in norms in society, ignorance of history and cultural heritage and so forth.

Digital technology and artificial intelligence open the gate of cultural acculturation that produces a society that we often call Global Community. There are many positive impacts from the birth of global society, but don’t forget the negative impacts. Positive impacts, for example, the spread of disciplinary culture from developed countries, freedom of thought, and critical thinking that encourages the development of science. While as the negative impact, for example, the lack of local cultural wisdom because of the tendency of people to follow global trends.

Moreover, in the art which is also closely related to culture, digital technology and artificial intelligence not only provide easy access for the general public to learn but also more or less also changes art production. For example, we have come across a lot of short films that we can officially watch through video sharing sites or YouTube, songs that no longer have to go through the recording studio and use tapes for their distribution, or beautiful photos that we can easily enjoy on social networks like Instagram.

Digital technology brings us closer to art, even to the point, where we forget that art is someone’s copyrighted work. On that basis, the right to copyright is upheld. The recent phenomenon, with many copyright violations such as plagiarism, piracy and so on, reminds us of the importance of regulations for art in this digital age.

For this reason, ISASTech 2020 together with the 7th OISAA Symposium America-Europe Region 2020 invites you to submit your ideas about what regulations should be made and implemented to uphold art ethics? Or how do we utilize digital technology and artificial intelligence to document local culture and art in order to save it and even develop it? Also how will this strategy be succeed in bringing a better impact to more balanced human life? And many other things.

So, See you in Istanbul!
